On March 20, the School of Foreign Languages held the seminar in Conference Room F309.
Prof. Wu Yuanning, an EU-accredited simultaneous interpreter from Central South University, delivered a keynote speech. Dean Wang Jiayi and Deputy Party Secretary Zhu Jie attended, alongside students passionate about interpretation.
At the beginning of the sharing session, Wu Yuanning addressed multiple aspects including the interpreter's role, preparation work, differences between interpretation and translation, andjobinterviewsfor interpreters. Drawing from his extensive practical experience, he shared challengesin interpretation work along with corresponding solutions. He provided an in-depth exploration of how to effectively integrate interpretationtrainingwith workplace demands, offering students valuable guidance for both learning and practicing interpretation.
Wu Yuanning noted that with the rapid development of interpretation activities, society nowhashigher professional standardsforinterpreters.He encouraged students tofocus onpracticaltrainingduring their studies, continuously enhancing both their professional competence and adaptability to meet various challenges in their future careers.

Wang Jiayi saidthat the School of Foreign Languages has always valued student engagement with industry experts, and will continue organizing relevant academic events to invite more specialists.
